Thankyou sekica. There is evidence in the form of Flint tools, axe heads and arrows from the stone age, discovered during archological digs indicating a settlement thousands of years ago. Modern history is documented from around 600 ad. This church dates back to around 1260 ad.

The monastery of "St Hida", shown elsewhere in my gallery, has its origins in the 9th century ad.
