Al-Khazna, the treasure of Petra

Selected for Google Maps and Google Earth

The Treasury (60 BC - 50 AD), or Al Khazna in Arabic, is the most spectacular monument carved by the Nabateans. It stands an imposing 39,5 m. high and is impressively carved out of a single block. The name of the monument came from a local Bedouin legend of an hidden treasure in the urn at the top, there are many bullets holes from shooting at the urn to try to retrieve this treasure.

Che spettacolo!! Faceva molto caldo?? Buona giornata!!

Gori Bau on October 1, 2012
