Thanks for spending so much time on my pages. You're a great visitor. Calico, which was a silver mining town, just sits out in the desert, past Barstow as you drive from San Diego to Las Vegas (and beyond). It's being restored now, and its a nice little stopping off spot.

Funny, I have been there as a child in 1986. It seems as it has not changed much. My stay in California has been one of my best summer holidays ever. There are so many wonderful memories linked with it.

Hi Axel, I'm glad I could bring you pleasure with my photo. I was driving from San Diego to Las Vegas when we pulled off here. Calico has a wonderful story, and it is wonderful that the town is being restored for the fun and enjoyment of all of us "road warriors."

We were driving through old california and stopped for a moment to see the old school house a wonderful asset for protection of history. Mike Lee, gordon dell,yvonne pell, mark steven and the attorney staff from sears corp will be planning our next adventure. new explorer members tran tam, gloria neff, herold bazan, bruce coll, gladys santo. meet up at old town irvine.
