A origem geológica desta montanha é sedimentar. As rochas de Montserrat são muito duras e muito resistentes à erosão. Elas consistem de um conglomerado de seixos reforçadas com cimento calcário. No entanto, ao longo do tempo, o vento e a chuva moldaram agulhas em forma de monólitos de aspectos muito diferentes. A imaginação popular associou esses monólicos a figuras humanas e animais, foi dando nomes e inventou lendas que explicam a sua origem no fantástico. The geological origin of this mountain is sedimentary. The rocks of Montserrat are very hard and very resistant to erosion. They consist of a conglomerate of cement reinforced with limestone pebbles. However, over time, wind and rain shaped needle-shaped monoliths of very different aspects. The popular imagination associated these monolithic human figures and animals, was giving names and invented legends explaining its origin in the fantastic.
