Greenland's Dwindling Glaciers

Selected for Google Maps and Google Earth

Greenland's valley glaciers continue to shrink, thawing more ice than they accumulate. Once the ice-sheet was continuous here, a heavy blanket across the whole surface. Now the exuded streams of glacial ice move down the sculpted valleys, not reaching the sea in this case, nor filling the depth of the valley.
