Welcome back Rich -- winter is the best time in my opinion, although access to the high country of Yosemite is limited since the roads are closed by snow until May or June usually.

Ah, yes....I remember a motorcycle trip, Grants Grove and Kings Canyon and we had to wait a day because the road was closed by a Black wrought iron spider web gate. The next day was a beautiful drive. The water falls in Yosemite were over flowing.....the old days ;-))
