Church Saints Constantine and Helen

The Church of Constantine and Helen was built upon decision of the then Mayor of Volos Spyros Spyridis, designed by architect Aristotelis Zachos. Founations in 1927 and inaugurated on 18 May 1936 with pomp and grandeur, by the then Bishop of Demetrias Joachim. It is basilica, lined with stone externally. The roof of the church is covered with Byzantine tiles and, in the south side stands majestic bell tower. It is worth noting that the final draft of Arist. Zachos was based on experiences of the same, during the restoration of St Demetrius of Thessaloniki.
