Dog Cemetery, Secord Forest Trail. Looks real, doesn't it?

Selected for Google Maps and Google Earth

Bronze Sculpture of Irish Setter overlooking the Pet Cemetery.

The area was a home of a veterinarian Mr. Alan Secord.

Sky Hills Pet Cemetery became a home for his patients, who did not make it.

He started the pet cemetery on his property, when his cocker spaniel died. Since then animals from all over North America have been brought there by their grieving owners. Mostly dogs are buried here, but the list includes cats, budgies, even a horse and an 81 year old parrot. How does dog heaven look like???

After his dead (1997?), his wife generously donated this large, 93 hectares, parcel of land, to be used as a wildlife sanctuary.

Dr. Alan and Mrs. Ingeborg Secord purchased the property in 1948 from Mr. Bob White.
