Teleferico, Madrid

Selected for Google Maps and Google Earth

Until today, I hadn't known that there were cable cars above Madrid and I've lived here for 2 years!

Called the TELEFERICO, it was built in 1969. There are 80 cabins which travel 40 metres above the ground for 11 minutes over 2.5 km between the centre of Madrid and the Casa de Campo park to the west.

Thank you Carmen.

I have said to my girlfriend that we have to ride in a cabin soon. I felt really stupid not knowing they existed!

Best wishes, Andy
