Thank you Hafeezmj.

Nice. This plays to my personal preference for photos which have subtle shadow detail and colouring rather than the all too common high contrast and pumped up saturation - superficially impressive but tedious after you've endured thousands of similar looking images. I blame Kodachrome and the National Geographic!

...and excellent retention of detail and subtle texture. You've just got to look at this one full screen!

Thank you David, for both of your comments! My lens and I are both very happy you took the time to view the larger size. I have been trying to tone things down a bit and I appreciate your reinforcement. Cheers!

Stanislav, I see from your gallery that you also enjoy taking pictures of mushrooms. Greetings to you from California!

Very nice capture. Greetings, David.

F0r your amusement - an example of the kind of treatment we both seem to be backing away from - the hyper saturated landscape with toilet cleaner blue skies...

kenfowkes on January 31, 2013

Thank you David. I'm glad you stopped by for a look.

kenfowkes on January 31, 2013

David Ian Wilson I have a confession to make. Although I am moving in the keep-it-real direction with my photographs, I still enjoy looking at those hyper saturated landscapes when the scene itself is dramatic enough to stand up to the treatment.

Hello!

I've followed this interesting thread and would simply add that I see a place for both schools of thought. I like this mushroom picture as much as the Alpine panorama referred to. I like the fact that Pano is a broad church.

Best wishes, Andy
