'Visiting' the Danish Queen at Fredensborg Palace

A worthwhile late turn past Fredensborg Palace, caught the palace illuminated by the early evening dusk, and discovered that the Queen Margereth II was home.

Fredensborg Palace / Slot is a palace located on the eastern shore of Lake Esrum (Esrum Sø) in Fredensborg on the island of Zealand (Sjælland) in Denmark. It is the Danish Royal Family’s spring and autumn residence, and is often the site of important state visits and events in the Royal Family. It is the most used of the Royal Family’s residences ... judging from the rooms lit up, the royal family was home - I wanted to go closer / up to the 'house' and knock on the door, but the Royal Guard said "nej" (i.e. no) ;-)
