Lake Boomanjin, Fraser Island

The tea-coloured water of Lake Boomanjin appears as a red edge around the lake, where the white sand beneath can be seen through the water. But where the water is deeper, the coloured water becomes like a dark sea reflecting the full blue of the sky.

This is some of the magic of Fraser Island, a UNESCO World Heritage listed site. This almost pristine lake is one of the many freshwater lakes on Fraser Island.
