I enjoy the technical challenge of shooting into the sun and creating images like this.

Humor me!

It's a wonderful shot, i like!!

Lizab.

Thank you Lizab

You are very right Ian - I love this park. Its a ten mile drive but we always see heron and kingfisher and get to talk to lots of anglers. I can sit for hours on an old log by the bank (as long as I have my camera, of course).

Many thanks - Jethro

Here begineth the humor....Jethro....A smack on picture.../...According to 'Herb'....shooting into the sun can be known as.. 'contre-jour'....(I had to look up..what it meant).....yes...I too enjoy this style...it brings out good contrast and as in your picture here..illuminates foreground detail....Dj.

David Brown Photogra… on November 13, 2012

Thank you David I like to think of mine differently. With Contre-jour there is a loss of detail.... I am trying to reflect the sun as it really is, just another star in the sky!

:o)

Maybe juts a wee bit closer!

Keep smiling - Jethro

Nice shot Jethro. I really like how you added the sun (effect).

David Brown Photogra… on November 14, 2012

Thank you Don

Randy WHAT! ADDED! :o)

I am really into shooting into the sun right now. I have a lens with lots of blades on it aperture and I love to pull the colors out of the RAW file and get these star bursts. So while I know what you mean about adding the sunburst - this am de real ting!

Stay smiling my friends - Jethro

That worked well, Jethro. It's lovely. I would be scared in case the sun frazzled the sensor!

I'm not sure how likely that is. I am/was an Electronics Engineer and that gives me license to be stupid in matters like these.

Thanks for the compliment however!

Best wishes for 2013 - Jethro
