On the right is a protected area, in wich exist parts of an Early Christian Basilica (5th to 6th century AC.) comprising a mosaic floor depicting the four rivers of Eden and the twelve months of the year and also exists a imperial cult altar (1st to 4th century AC). The area of Tegea has the most important archaeological sites (for many periods) of Arcadia (Greece), one of them is the Temple of Alea Athena which was the largest in the Peloponnese after the Temple of Zeus at Olympia.
