Mimico Creek Bridge, similar to the La Devesa Bridge (Ripoll, Spain), made with a single inclined arch, designed by Santiago Calatrava.
The arc on the bridge seems to be unnecessary, especially over the short span (44 m), but it adds strength & stability in addition to visual effect.
The only caveat I have is about the materials used. A bridge should not be rusting. Quality stainless steel is a minimum requirement for exposed parts.
I guess they tried to save 5 cents, but it will cost a $1 to fix it.
Here is another view of the bridge from my gallery.
CN Tower is almost a symbol of Toronto and is usually visible from everywhere! Not this time....;-)
