First time I've ever seen "Shire Boundary" on a distance board.

Cindy - being on the coast you're even further away from these wonderful places. :-))

Reinhard Kerkeling on November 26, 2012

Are there enough fuel stations on the way? Here you will be everywhere in a few hours, that`s the difference. Kind greetings Reinhard

People not from Australia sometimes find it hard to reconcile the vastness of Australia. There is a fascination with our outback and evidenced by the views on photos on GE in those locations.
Blokes like you Lex make sure that fascination stays to the fore.
Keep up the good work.

GasGasL€X on November 26, 2012

Thanks Jock, I did have all those things except monkey butt powder.. :( Reinhard there are fuel stops along the way but not for hundreds of Km's. Thanks Stuart, kind an erudite words as allways.. :)

There are some guys that I know from here that go to the Alice Springs area to launch weather balloons. There is a video on youtube which shows one wiping out a SUV with the payload package when the wind kicked up and people were parked where the should not have been.

GasGasL€X on November 29, 2012

Hello and thanks Henry for the info. I will check out the Youtube video... Cheers from OZ, ~Lex
