I just love your pictures of this wee hummer, I am enthralled by the shinnering crimson red throat feathers it has, almost like drops of blood around its neck.

Your 'capture' of this bird in close up is a testimony to your skill and patience, well done!

In this photo of the Hummingbird the wings span came out marvelously! Great! L, best wishes, Micky.

Great shot showing the movement of this hummer's wings. I don't think I've ever seen such a good example of showing this! Favorite, Suzi! Greetings from River

Superb image Suzi - our birds are all gone for this year - I am astonished you still have some around. This is a seriously superb shot.

Well done that lass - Jethro

A happy hello, dears Mike and Jethro - I am not sure if this is a juvenile male, just getting it's iridescent head feathers, or whether it has molted and is just getting them back. But they fill in and then there is solid brilliance. The Anna's can turn their feathers to catch the light, so the head/throat feathers can look from black to startling hot pink. They use this to warn off competitors and prey, plus spreading their tail feathers wide and making a lot of squeaky noise as well. This variety stays all year (which astonishes and pleases me), the Rufous migrate so we will see them again around March 1. Thank you both, with hugs (O:
