Meltdown 1: Sea Ice of the Gyldenløve Fjord, Greenland

The 2 islands pictures lie of the south east coast of Greenland. The strait between them is only about 500M wide. The waterways among the islands and in the inlets of this coast are filled with bergs of sea ice. In this early summer photo much of the island surface has been revealed as the spring thaw has removed some of the snow cover. What appears to be a frozen lake in the right foreground is actually an inlet of frozen sea ice.

These islands are located just north of the Gyldenlove Fjord.
