that's beautiful h - so tall and straight - not like the limes I used to know growing up in the Kent countryside - same fresh green but much sturdier and branching lower - thanks for showing me. Graham

I think these might have been lopped when they were younger as it was part of a country estate. This type of shot never fails to lift the heart. It just means summer! to see these trees change throughout the year a joy and a privilege.

Hi Jean, Alas, memories of summer past! These great old lime trees form a beautiful lush canopy over this great old planted avenue.

Here's a view in Autumn,

Ahoy hoy h, hope you are well. lovely color here, makes me want the summer back. we are bracing for yet another snow storm here, might be a good one as well. if I could I would gladly trade weather with you there, sort of had enough cloud and snow.

The Irish Government is moving closer to a huge sell-off of the public forests, currently managed by Coillte (The Irish Forestry Board), to private investors to pay for the actions of wreckless bankers and developers. An area greater than 1 million acres, will be lost forever. This will include some of our most valuable native woodlands, wild places and some of the last refuges of our native flora and fauna

If you think this is a extremely shortsighted decision, a potential tourist or visitor who would like to see these important areas saved, please sign this petition now to tell the Irish Government that Ireland's Forests are not for sale, You have no interest in visiting a country that treats it's people and environmental assets with such distain. These forests are the inheritance of all people. A strong show of support, asserting the rightful ownership of the public forests will make all the difference for everyone in times to come. Thanks. h
