One of our group commented that crossing here was the scariest part! She had just abseiled down 200ft of rugged cliff-face and then makes this comment, here. That perhaps helps the viewer to realise the scale, and to not underestimate the volume of water that tumbles through this cataract.
This is the benign top section of Kennys Cataract, there being 4 main drops beyond this, and in those sections much of the flow is below large boulders and down narrow clefts.

This is a wee bit of my local falls - falls almost unknown to the rest of the world, but their 500ft drop and their diversity of forms and stages are fantastic. This is a cataract section between the top plunge and the next big fall just round the background corner.
