19th C. bordello

As I took pictures, two men passing by told me about this building. "Quite a history, there. The girls would stand on the balconies and display their wares."

Beautiful building! And I love it when I'm taking a picture of a place and someone stops and tells me its history. Doesn't happen often enough though!

Thanks, Pamela. Yes, I love it, too! You're right, it rarely happens and I think people feel they might be interfering. Many old buildings in Sydney had a New Orleans flavor because of the ironwork.

Thank you, Fabio. I'm glad the men happened to pass by, I would never have guessed the original purpose of this building!
