Well, many of the same words are common in the American West, including "longhorn", "saloon" or "ponderosa." Not all of them really apply to everywhere in the west, though. Longhorn steers are in the state of Texas, for instance, not in Oregon. The names can be used to simply promote the idea of the Wild West.
