Selected for Google Maps and Google Earth

On October 9, the second day of the Great Chicago Fire, the St. James Church was destroyed. The bell tower with its monument to Civil War soldiers and the nearby Chicago Water Tower were the only structures that survived the fire in this part of Chicago.

Hello dear Marlene,
No doubt this was once the dominating building of the district and now only a dwarf among the tall modern buildings. However, you have managed to give it som of the grandeur of the past using the 'skyscraper' as a 'shadow'. Very well seen. LIKE.
