nice shot h, I'm not sure that I have been in this section of your gallery yet. Man that sd9 took a nice image didn't it? I love the orange up front and the shadowy background. A yellow star for that!
Cheers
Don

Hi Don, Micheal,
Thanks very much for the Ys for this pic! really appreciate it!
The building in the foreground is the National photographic Archive (hopefully will get some pics in there someday!) and the building in the background is the Gallery of photography!
The pic was taken with a Sigma Sd9 in the evening light, It was one of the earlier Digital cameras, my only complaint with it was the pics in shadows suffered greatly from colour noise on the image. Don, I think you have a Canon 40d, Canon digitals are just super, I'll swear by them!
Warmest regards to Canada & Austria from Dublin h

Yes I do have a 40d and it is a very nice camera. It is my second dslr, my first was a sony a100. It took a bit to get used to the 40d (since I have no formal training on how to use an slr), but I think that I am catching on now. It all started for me with a point and shoot digi cam, I had a load of fun with it and decided to upgrade to an slr at the advice of one my inspirations Telf Wegg. I really enjoy learning how to do things on my own, and I think that it is safe to say that I will be learning lots more over the next few years. I think it is also safe to say that I will be shooting with canon for a good long time as well.
Cheers
Don
P.S. as for getting an image in there. Why not just use some sticky tack and sneak one onto the wall and snap a shot of that, then see how long it takes for them to notice.

Hi Don, Monika,
Don thanks for sending on the link for Telf, lovely stuff, Telf looks the man for good advice! your in goods hands with Canon, they have a lovely rich balance in exposures. On the software side i think photoshop is the best for balancing your colours & exposures, keep em blacks black!
Monika thanks for the Y* for this very much appreciated! The building on the left has lovely red brick in Daytime, so by evening in the light it glows nicely. The tiles in the square nicely reflected the gallery and the early evening light gives the sky its colour! Delighted you like it,
Best regards to both of you from Dublin h

I have been using photoshop cs3 and adobe lightroom 2 to adjust the lighting and what not but it is mostly guess work as I am still learning about how to use them both. I have been having a blast trying to learn how to create fantastic images but have no one around here to tell me when I do some thing wrong. Any how, cheers to you my friend and keep up the great work! I'm off to town for a bit of coffee and to catch a few shots.
Cheers
Don
