This view is approaching the volcano from the east. A smaller cone rises to the left of the photo. The ski areas of Niseko Annapuri are on the far side. Dairy farming in Hokkaido is fairly common in Hokkaido, as the Japanese didn't begin to move here until after the Meiji Restoration (revolution) of 1868 so there's space.
