Don't be fooled into thinking all Coast Redwoods look like this one. They just don't do very well in the lime soil of Southern England. As a species along the Northern coast of California they grow tall and symetrical. Trees over 200 feet are common. The tallest tree in the world, at almost 380 feet, is a Coast Redwood near Eureka, California. They can live to over 2000 years.
