Thanks Nicolas. Yes, it's very heavily populated all the way up the coast here. The Atlantic coast is on a sand bar, separated from the mainland by the intercoastal waterway. On the map it's called the Indian River. This public beach access is one of the few along the A1A, which has mostly hotels along the coast side. The A1A is where the astronauts used to take their sports cars drag racing.

(Nope not Australia, but I finally had to type in Melbourne, Florida to keep the map from automatically taking me to Australia.)

This is a very nice photo, but labeled poorly.

You probably took this picture in Indialantic, FL rather than in Melbourne Beach, which is situated several miles south of where you located the photo.

Indialantic, FL is on the barrier island, right across the Indian River from Melbourne, FL, which has no beach.
