Some history and information about the Vista House
Windows - definitely a must there, 7 or 8 at the minimum...
Wonderful looking place, although not very easy for the moss photography.
Thank you for the comments sixten which do you prefer, the landscape or this?
Oh, that house up there. It's one of the windiest places outside of Finland, I was up there one day and the wind was blowing over 100kmh! I added a link above if you're interested.
Very good info link, plus a tough question, Ken. My selection is this portrait. I like the deeper tones and the way it shows the terrain on the river level. In addition the line of spruce trees form a beautiful extra base element in this shot.
Thanks for the answer sixten, you've done a nice job putting my thoughts into words.
When I first saw these two almost a week ago I thought you'd probably ask which one I liked better. I was thinking about that, got distracted, and then forgot to leave any comment! Having finally returned, I am amused by what has transpired.
I do like them both quite a lot. The scene is wonderfully dramatic, and your captures are loaded with appealing color and detail. I too give this one a very slight edge because I get a stronger sense of the vertical. Love the vertical!
Thanks for the comments and the vote Ken. I think you nailed the part about the vertical, this place is over 700 feet above the river, and although neither truly capture that I do think this comes closer. Merry Christmas to you and your family from me and mine!
