Quinton's Oak at First Light

Selected for Google Maps and Google Earth

On the first morning of winter the weak light of a cold sunrise sweeps across Quinton's Oak. By happenstance, I walked out of the house and saw this image unfolding and knew what I wanted the image to present. At the moment of sunrise, I made a sequence of shots to capture that first instant when the sun's light bathed the tree. Sometimes we are lucky, sometimes we know what we want; and, sometimes we are lucky enough to get what we want.
