My friend poises for me ~ in thanks for all the Xmas goodies

This little fella was kind enough to pose for me a few weeks ago, coming almost up to my feet ~ and I had not a crumb to offer him. So a week or so ago as a thank you and reward I took him some Christmas presents. A ball of fat and seed that will not last long on the ground. A bird feed tube with two perches that is hanging in the tree above and a half coconut filled with fat and bird seed and finally a compressed disc of bird seed that is also hanging in a tree. As his territory is on the side of a lake I often walk by, I'll keep the bird seed container topped up every week or so. There are some blue tits living here as well. So now I have added a nut holder too. There are quite a few other species too.

Steve Drury Yes I'm worried that by Spring he'll be at least twice the size he now is Steve.

I saw a little wren down there today, and there are plenty of blue tits too and other's too, but so far none of them have come close enough or been still enough for me to home in on ~ Thanks for the like and best wishes ~ nick

AH! Nick I LOVE these shots of this fella. such a great series of him/her...this one seems to be giving you "the eye", flirting with you, and thanking you for the treats. Can't they be so intertaining? Ive "bird watched" some today of my little friends, the Cardinal and his girlfriend. now posted. and so many others too, dropping in for a snack. our pecans have to be gathered, and until we do, they are ALL enjoying the bounty out back under the trees.:) HAPPY NEW YEAR dear friend, with a "toast" and a hug.. ~~Sarah~~ QofC...

Steve Drury, ~ I think it was a wren as it was very small and brown, but of course until I get a shot of it I can't be certain. Time will tell with a bit of luck ~ All the best ~ nick

Sarah O, Just as well that you do love Robins dear Sarah as I'm finding it hard to take any shots of the other wild birds that frequent this lakeside location :~) I'll pop along to see what you have caught next ~ Happy New Year Hugs ~ nick
