A Estação Arqueológica do Cabeço do Vouga – sítio da Mina, como o próprio nome indica fica situada num cabeço, numa estreita faixa de terra delimitada a norte pelo rio Vouga e a Sul pelo Marnel, seu afluente. Trata-se de um povoado fortificado, de nome Castelium Marnelis, por aqui passava a estrada romana que ligava Braga a Lisboa. Escavações arqueológicas puseram a descoberto a plataforma murada do século I/II d.C. e o contraforte da fachada poente, dos séculos III/IV d.C. estruturas de razoáveis dimensões. Pode ainda verse as fundações do conjunto habitacional pré-romano, romano, tardo-romano, construído entre os primeiro e o quinto séculos d. C. Este povoado da idade do Ferro, posteriormente romanizado, foi posto a descoberta pelo arqueólogo Rocha Madail efectuado desde os anos 40 do século XX. É Imóvel de interesse público desde 1941.
