Snow on Christmas Day, 2012

Selected for Google Maps and Google Earth

This was the first time there was measurable snowfall on Christmas Day in 86 years (since 1926). Light rain began early day and ice began forming on the trees around noon. The rain turned to snow around 3:00 pm and it snowed well into the night. Notice the broken branches that fell from the pine tree.

Like in fairy tales!

Kind regards, Diana

It's such a rare occurrence that it is almost like a fairy tale, But I can't imagine Hansel and Gretel out in weather like this. Thanks for the visit, Diana.

Merci beaucoup to you for visiting my gallery. It won't be long until this tree will be awash in white again but this time it will be blossoms and not snow.

Have a nice day.

Thanks, Steve. For all the trouble it causes it is very pretty.
