Yes, there's a strong relationship though this is more elegant. (Ours was built very cheaply in 1898, and very little of the stone was quarried. Most of it was just gathered.)

After the snow finally goes and once the grass turns green, I'll try to get pictures of a few of Guelph's stone cottages--ones that can be seen more easily than ours which is overgrown by vegetation.
