IMBIL NATIONAL PARK:

You know you are in pristine areas when the trees are adorned by beard lichens. Such environments have been fire free.

These forests are of high value, maintaining wonderful genetic pools for many species, protecting steep landforms, and offering majestic, varied, and surprising attractive landscapes.

The moods of the higher country - ranging from brilliantly lit underside of clouds at sunset, to fog-filled valleys below in the morning, and the caresses of breezes and wisps of mist in between - reveal the vitality of the landscape.

Dear Berend,

You know you are in pristine areas when the trees are adorned by beard lichens. Such environments have been fire free. I love the moods of the higher country - ranging from brilliantly lit underside of clouds at sunset, to fog-filled valleys below in the morning, and the caresses of breezes and wisps of mist in between.

Thanks, Berend.
