Great expectation has double meaning in Cuba. In addition to the many kids on the street (nothing on TV), the young generation expect changes to the system.
There is already a class system in Cuban society. There are people who already know how to swim in this new current of changes, but there are many who will fail to adapt and drown.
I talked to few people in town & in the hotel. People are not afraid to talk, they are much more open then 14 years ago (my first visit), but many have rose coloured glasses to see the darker realities of life in Canada or USA.
Nobody looks to be hungry in Cuba, all younger people (the ones who care) are dressed better than Torontonians, yet I did not see even ONE clothing store! All clothes seems to be donated by Canadians!
