Are you sure this isn't just Neighborhood Watch? Salem is where Sheila grew up, but I guess the neighborhood is a little rougher now . . . .

Interesting bit of historical hardware there... Nice front lawn toy!

Doug, I think that GE/GM has some how managed to get voting districts for map locations. I know in the county where I live they will post things half way across the county from the actual locations that GE/GM list as the location as being and again, I believe it's voting district name and not the actual location. This site is a minimum of 100 miles north of Shelia's Salem. GasGas, to be honest the M56 is in front of the VFW, but I liked this angle more where it looks like a front yard ornament.

this is parked outside the local VFW chapter house. the pic is taken with the next door neighbors house in background

That is correct, Akumakuruma, but it is emblematic of how much concern for the neighbors most real or imaginary military installations display. When my parents were living on Lighthouse Drive in Hampton, facing the Chesapeake Bay, Langley Air Force Base across the river from them was unapologetically dumping raw sewage into the Bay "because they were a federal installation, unaffected by state laws." Or their neighbors. Most of us civilians try to find what humor we can . . . .
