Karksi Peetri Church, Karksi- Nuia

The church with the peculiar slanting tower was built in 1778 partly on the old stronghold wall. Unique in Estonia. The top of the tower is 205 cm aslant. The most valuable art memorials are paintings on the orjol from the second half of the 18th century and copper ceiling- chandelier in 18th century made in Viljandi. The altar with rococo motifs is finished off on late baroque style in Riga in workshop of Appelbaum in 1760.-1770. In the sacristy of the church is altar of the old church what dates back to 17th century. Also there is unique orjol since 1874, made in craftsman Ernst Carl Kesslers' firm.

Nu, ja. Vienu veselu izbraukumu varētu veltīt tādai baznīcai. Jā, pašiem igauņiem viņa tik slīpa fotogrāfijās neizskatās. Jums labi izdevies! :D

Uz dievkalpojuma beigām draudze izslīd no baznīcas ārā...

Very nice church! I think it has a proble with vertical line.. =) nice photo - Yellow star!
