For ten points, who wrote a book that talks about a fence across Borrowdale to segregate the birds?
Maybe this one's for the fishes Kenny
Wow, I just realized that I have raced my wee sailboat on this reservoir! You didn't find a Mirror center board while you were poking around that shore did ya?
Classic shot marra - Jethro
Jethro. You never fail to make me chuckle. I have long stopped googling your comments to check the validity........ So what was the name of that book?
Nice to have jogged your grey matter.
If I never fail to make you chuckle, then my job here is done Kenny!
Hugh Walpole rings a bell...... not just from Monty Python's Dead Parrot sketch either. Was it Rogue Herries or Judith Parish or somesuch?
Correction, it was the cheese shop sketch and she who must be believed and obeyed says Rogue Herries.
Yes Rogue Herries is mentioned in that sketch along with some very runny Camenbert! Looking back we were very foolish walking around school saying "it's a bit runny" and "danish bimbo" but then it was a cult classic!!!!
Naw... you're not THAT old Kenny. Now don't fib.
A couple of night's sleep has allowed the old mind to unzip and defrag a bit and suggests a cuckoo is somehow involved in all this.
The Borrowdale bit that is...
Alas I am THAT old. I remember watching Fireball XL5 and even Supercar, hell I can even remember Bill and Ben.
The Old One!
Sadly another recent death comes to mind.... Gerry Anderson. I didn't realize it was a British series - I always assumed it was American.
