Dovecot by Homilton Farm (information wanted)

I have not been able to find out any information about this ruin. Was it a peel tower??? I welcome your comments.

Hi Kenny, i can't find much info either,it seems a few others have failed too, a dovecot folly was one suggestion. It seems to be too fortified for that though, i think i would go along with your comment re- a peel tower,apparantly there were quite a lot built to help repel invasion from north of the border.

Hi Neil

I love how a picture stimulates the mind. I have learnt more about dovecotes in the last few days than throughout the rest of my life. So much so that I now have discounted the peel tower in favour of the dovecote. However I will keep looking and keep an open mind.
