Hi Don, This is one 3 tunnels in quick succession on a ledge of a hillside 300 ft above the sea. It is truely awesome area & view. Thanks very much for the YS buddy, appreciate it!

Went through these tunnels en route from Farranfore to Caherciveen in 1955. Steam loco (turf fuelled?) and carriages with wooden seats. View one side nothing but mountain, other side great first view of Blaskets for an English 11 year old.

Hi eyeriebird, wow!! Thanks for dropping us a line. If you have any more memories related to the line, we'd love to hear! I hope this pic brings back some pleasant memories. I would say it was great trip for a 11 year old, if not a bit rickety!!!. One of the finest scenic lines in the country of it's time unfortunately well gone before my arrival!!!

I photographed this section of line maybe ten years ago just before Kells station was restored to private use. There's a couple of more on the gallery from here to Caherciveen, just hit the disused railway tag on the right & Kerry for one or two of the blaskets! I hope you enjoy them & they bring back fond memories of this wonderful part of Ireland!

Warmest regards from Dublin h
