I'm no expert on B&W, but this is quite haunting -very nice colection altogether.
thanks Graham for your kind comments,
This shot was done on t- max film, red filter. I wanted a partial infrared style keeping the detail and lessening the grain of infrared. its part of a larger project of derelict irish railways. It was a great project at the time as a lot of these places changed quite quickly after years of abandonment.
Nice image 2CME! Pity to see these old routes abandoned. Can you follow the route on the satellite image? It's easy down in the South East. They disappear for half a mile or so and then re-appear at the far side of a field. Even in Dublin you can pick up the lines right out from the city. Borris viaduct here
Hi Gerry, lovely shot of borris viaduct!, Its pretty easy to follow the routes by satellite, railways generally try & take a straight alignment, where they have being ploughed back into the land the hedgerows generally give the game away a few fields on, Google earth would have been a great help if it had been around a couple of years ago when i did these! The good news for this route it will be reopened on the second phase of western rail corridor from Athenry - Tuam - Sligo
