What does that adjective mean "Waterloo ...". Is it in connection with Waterloo battle? Misi

Welcome Misi, I am not sure what the connection to 'The Battle of Waterloo' is, but I am re-searching the history of these old cottages and will let you know soon.

~Mooie foto..jimmyboy,,als deze rivier door veel regen erg stijgt zullen de bewoners in die mooie woningen soms wel natte voeten krijgenniet???!!!

Lijkt me een rivier om lekker pootje te baden,of niet??

Hello Freddy, Im sorry for being too slow here. Thankyou so much for dropping in. Yes you are correct Fred. The ground floor of these homes are elevated 2metres, since flooding has wet their feet.(soms wel natte voetten krijgerniet) I swim this river as a young man. Very good.

Blessings Freddy.

Very Picturesque. We have walked to and around Ruswarp several times, I like the little cafe there. So peaceful.

Thankyou so much Paula. I know what you mean, Ruswarp is a tranquil place in the valley of the river Esk. It is one of my favourite local villages and a childhood adventure playground. The best Butcher and Pie Shop can be found at the bottom of Ruswarp Bank.

Cheers.

Hello Jim, I have looked at this before and find it very appealing - I always liked the water and streams but not sure I'd want to be that close. Nice light but the sky looks a little odd in as much as it is blue behind the trees and the remainder is white? Anyway a nice scene nicely captured.

Cheers, John

Greetings john, the house is elevated several feet so that it only gets wet soles when the river floods, as it does quite frequently! It would not be my choice either ;>) but oh what a wonderful view.

There are a number of low lying fields just to the North East of these cottages that have become the domain of the local seal family. They can often be seen happily sun bathing like tourists on the beach and present an odd sight when cattle congregate there.

The river Esk is the finest salmon river in Yorkshire so you can imagine that dinner is easy pickings. The seals look very healthy with their thick blubbery coats.

I shall make an effort to film these one day john

The white sky is simply a product of my inept camera work. Iv'e moved on a little since then, yet I still drop the occasional clanger!!

Thanks for dropping in ;>)
