This Bronze age grave has it's huge covering slab in two parts as a stonemason cut out the centre piece for a gatepost in around 1860...during excavations a flint scraper and whetstone were found in the grave...The earth on the moors is very acid and bones dont last so long..in the background can be seen two stone rows

Really interesting!! Was this place a kind of cementery?? and the two stone rows?? what were they used for?? This place looks a strong energy point... Ö

Greetings and thanks for posting, Crystal.

Hello My friend ! There have been many theories about this place but it still remains an enigma ...some one of importance was buried here and the area around is full of strange stones in circles and rows...if only we had a time machine eh ?

what i like most is that this place is so close to a road that curves over the moor and you can stop jump out climb up a little hill and skip over a river and you are alone in this interesting place and wonder amongst these ancient traces of long forgotten times

Un abrazo T :)

This place is incredibly enigmatic!! Ö It looked to me, from what I have seen in the map that the stones are just there, meaning in the middle of "nowhere"!!?? As you say anybody can stop and walk around!!?? Is this place near Stonehenge, maybe??? Thanks for the information. If you hadn´t shown it here I would never have seen this wonderful place!!

Yes dear Crystal it is open to all ..no ropes or entrance fee you walk there day or night... you touch the stones and imagine people here who are the only ones to know the reasons for this enigma...

Stonehenge is a few hours away .. i sometimes pass it on a drive up to London but it is much more restricted ..with a fence and entrance fee then no change to go and touch the stones ..although it was no always like that and i remember walking around them as a child on a family visit ...but now...give me the wild and free open Dartmoor...

glad to share it with you
