Never ever seen a ship of this size in this position on the Derwent River before. What it was doing, I have no idea. Did a complete 360 degree turn as I watched. The vessel was pointing East here near enough, whilst the river flows north to south. The restaurant on the top floor of the casino revolves so maybe the captain on the ship thought he'd give his dining passengers the same experience.
Stop the press. Just found out why the ship was doing a 360 degree turn. The captain was re-calibrating the ships compass.

Straight off my back deck Ebi. This unusual manoeuvre by the ship made today's Newspaper with why it did what it did. Lots of people though it had engine problems, others like me thought of the view the captain was giving the passengers dining but the real reason is now above. Thanks for your comments and like. cheers Gary
