The lion's head is a drinking fountain near the playground and picnic area.
I've spent a large part of my childhood growing up in Port Sanilac, Michigan. The harbor was one of my favorite hangout places, and I used to fish on the north breakwall. I also remember when that very same breakwall would become all covered with ice when the waves crashed over it during high winds, and then freeze. It would do this in layers until you get a really thick coating over the railings, and it would even cover up the navigation light at the end of the wall.
Great memories, Michael!
We had a trailer in the Lexington RV Resort for 10 years, so we spent quite a bit of time in Port Sanilac. This year's ice buildup was still there at our last visit a couple of weeks ago.
Nice of you to notice my photo, thanks!
How long have you been away from Pt. Sanilac?
