I am curious about this house. It is so architecturally nice. Does it have a history. I can read the plaque om the wall to right, but I see no plaque on the other house.

Hi Snemann. It's called "Abbey House" - built around 1775 by George Bethell, references say he was a quarry master. The ashlar stone apparently came from a local quarry (this honey-colour is common in Bradford On Avon, but this is a really good example). Other buildings in the area can be seen here: http://www.thornber.net/england/htmlfiles/bradfordonavon2.html . Some town history here: http://www.freshford.com/bradford_home.htm . Cheers, Matthew
