Palacio Cantero. The most beautiful building in Trinidad.
I think the door, when fully opened, was for the horses to enter the yard. I do not know if they still allow horses through this door, but there are many similarly constructed doors in this city, where horses still access the inner yard this way.
Palacio Cantero, The mansion originally built in 1828 by one of the richest men in Cuba, Don Pedro Jose Iznaga Borrel, it belonged to the Borrel family and was later owned by Cantero, who married, probably for money, Borrels daughter.
Today is Municipal Museum. It features a spacious entrance hall that opens on to a sunny & large courtyard.
