You capture beautiful images Jeff. But... never respond to any of the comments on your pictures. What's up with that?

Jeff Sullivan on April 15, 2008

Thanks everyone!

Tom, I've been so distracted with health issues, work, travel and divorce that I rarely even think about this site anymore. I have time to drop by for maybe a few minutes every couple of months. As it so happens, your message was on the front page, so here I am. Never say never!

It's 1am though and taxes are due tomorrow, so off I go again. I'm here to contribute a few photos to Google Earth for people who can benefit from them. I use Google Earth to scout locations, so it's the least I can do. For the people who post kind words to get thanks in return, a gift given with the expectation of something in return is an obligation, not a gift. My participation here dropped quite a bit after someone tracked me down elsewhere and harrassed me. I can only imagine what would make someone so judgmental, self righteous and just plain nasty. It's not like that person has any clue what's going on in my life. I'm doing everything in my power to get bullying, controlling types out of my life. The experience largely cured me of my time habit here though, and for that I am thankful. I can focus on getting my "real" life rebuilt from scratch.

I'd turn off comments if I could though, to prevent any misunderstandings with the many generous and kind people here. It's not my intention to seek comments (obviously, since I'm not here to read them), or to hurt anyone's feelings when I'm not here to respond to them. OK it's now 1:30am... Take care.

Jeff- I greatly appreciate your response and I completely understand your position. Didn't mean to upset you in any way. I apologize.

Keep taking these great shots and posting them for us to enjoy. Hopefully your hectic life will slow down a little(I wish mine would) and your health issues will evaporate.

"For the people who post kind words to get thanks in return, a gift given with the expectation of something in return is an obligation, not a gift." I don't think this is the case for most people on here but then again I'm maybe a little naive. :)

All the best, Tom

  • Great shot Jeff, congrats and thanks for sharing.
