"Solar Power" is the title, but this transmission line carries electricity generated at the coal-fired Liddell Power station in the Hunter Valley. I took this photo just after the Howard Government, who refused to sign the Kyoto Protocol, was defeated in the Federal Elections, and the new Australian Government had made one of it's first international decisions to sign the protocol. This contributed to a change of stance by USA!

Thanks indeed, Jorge, Craig and Luud.

It seems that the whole developed world is strung together with power transmission lines and stitched with pylons - Australia, Argentina or Western Europe. But there is a significant difference in the lighting from northern hemisphere to southern hemisphere. The Melbourne photographers like you Craig and Rosina Lamberti have some great atmospheric and sunset images on display, and Jorge's summer storms from Argentina demonstrate that same strong light. And Luud, your images are also fantastic, whether of sunrise or Teuge sunsets or those with white skies as in Fairyland 11 or Nestbuilding!

The differences in lighting make our sharing through Panoramio so special.

And again, thankyou all for your responses to my image.

And your poetic imagery is great, too, Inessa.
