clickNZ, I like your style, lovely shots of sunsets, dawns etc. But can we remove the scaffolded mess on the left of this shot... Lord knows what will happen to that if and when we have a big quake... Cheers, P, ChCh.

Yes - I'm with you there. I wish it was possible just to clone it out as if it was a pimple on a portrait. Not only is the position and size/height of this building very inappropriate for the locality, but now that it's painted and scaffolding removed, the block of so-called "luxury" apartments most closely resembles architecture perfected for housing low level government departments and political prisoners in Soviet era Russia.

Oh my goodness. This building was under construction in 2008, now after earthquakes, it's 122mm lower at the front than the back and may be demolished. Peterbnz - you made a very good prediction there! Story in local newspaper here: Christchurch Press
